Dr Akshay Deoras is a meteorologist, researcher and public speaker. He is currently a Research Scientist at the National Centre for Atmospheric Science and the Department of Meteorology, University of Reading, United Kingdom. In over a decade-long career, he has accurately forecasted several high-impact weather events including deadly tropical cyclones such as Phailin, Hudhud and Nisarga.
At a young age of 20, the Government of Maharashtra, India invited him as an expert to improve the state’s weather forecasting system. He is frequently interviewed by the media on various meteorological aspects, some of which have featured in BBC News, Republic TV, India Today, CNN-News18, The Times of India, Hindustan Times, Indian Express, The Weather Channel, Huffington Post to list a few.
